Cookie Inspector by CookieOfficer ("the extension") is a browser tool that lets you view, classify, edit, and delete the cookies of the website you are currently visiting. This policy explains what the extension does with data.
Summary
The extension runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics inside the extension, and no tracking.
What the extension accesses, and why
- Cookies of the active site. The extension reads the cookies of the site you are viewing so it can list, classify (by category, purpose, and vendor), search, and export them, and so it can create, edit, or delete cookies when you ask it to in the popup. This happens only for the site in the active tab and only in response to your actions. Cookie data is processed locally and is never sent to any server.
- Reading the page (scripting). When you open the popup, the extension runs a small, bundled function in the active tab to detect whether a CookieOfficer consent banner is present, and to open that banner's preferences if you click "Manage". This function is part of the extension and reads only whether the banner's consent object exists. No remote code is loaded.
- Toolbar badge. The extension counts the cookies of the active tab to show a number on its toolbar icon. This count stays on your device.
Data collection
None. The extension does not collect, store, sell, or transfer any of your data to us or to third parties. The cookie classification database is bundled inside the extension and is not fetched from any server at runtime.
Links to our websites
When you choose to click "Start audit" or "Check", the extension opens cookieofficer.com in a new tab. For your convenience it passes the domain of the site you are currently on (so the scanner can pre-fill it) together with standard campaign parameters that tell us the visit came from the extension. This happens only when you click. Clicking the "Powered by DataWolves" logo opens datawolves.pl. Those websites have their own privacy policies.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
